How accurate is this clock?
A web page can only read the clock of the device it runs on. To catch a device clock that is fast or slow, ClockGlobe compares it with our server several times and estimates the difference from the quickest response. If the difference is bigger than the measurement uncertainty, the clock above is corrected and marked as such; otherwise your device time is shown unchanged.
Network delays limit how precisely this can be done. On a typical connection the result is accurate to a few hundredths of a second — good enough to set a watch or start a call on time, but not a substitute for a laboratory time signal.
Keeping your device on time
- Turn on automatic date and time (network time) in your device settings.
- Let your device choose its time zone automatically, especially when travelling.
- If the check above shows a difference of several seconds, restart time synchronisation or check for system updates.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the exact time?
The clock shows your device time, corrected by the difference we measure against ClockGlobe’s server when that difference is larger than the measurement uncertainty. It is typically accurate to a fraction of a second, but it is not an official or certified time signal.
Why is my phone or computer clock wrong?
Device clocks drift slowly and only stay correct when automatic time synchronisation is turned on. Manual changes, an empty clock battery or a blocked network time service can all make a clock run fast or slow.
How is the device clock difference measured?
Your browser asks our server for its time several times and records how long each request takes. The fastest round trip gives the best estimate, and half of that round trip is the uncertainty we show.
What time is it in UTC right now?
The UTC time is shown below the main clock. For a full UTC page with Zulu time and offsets, see the UTC time page.
